I book a flight to Thailand to a detox place.

I quit smoking in 12 days.

I lose 7 pounds weight while quitting. Normally people gain 13 pounds, I lose seven.

A weird thing happens to me on the day 10.

I get a stalker, a nasty Mr. Invisible, following me everywhere I go, stinking of old tobacco.

I catch him on the day 12.

He is not a person. He is a purse. He is my purse, the purse I am carrying for the past 6 months.

I figure … I stink and I do not notice. I stink of cigarettes, my purse, my jacket, my laptop.

Past tense. I stopped smoking.

Coco and I are a universe and 53 pounds apart.
